About

Q School has English Programs for everybody.

Students tell us that as soon they arrive for the QIS Orientation, they relax and feel at home. Most members of our friendly staff have attended school in other countries and know what it’s like to arrive alone in a situation that is truly foreign.

Sometimes even before you get in the door you’ll begin to meet other students who are arriving for orientation. There is an amazing bond that forms quickly when you are in a foreign country and meet other people you can relate to. That’s how it is with our students. Great friendships are formed at QIS, friendships we hope will last a lifetime.

Our orientation for new students is held every Monday at 9:30 a.m. At the orientation, you will receive a tour of the school and meet some of the staff and current students. We will provide you with information covering every subject you might possibly need to get off to a good start. We will also cover general information such as obtaining QIS Student ID for identification and discount purposes, opening a bank account, immigration rules and policies, how to obtain cell phone services, how to use public transportation, safety tips that can be helpful living in the U.S, and more.

At this time, you will also take your English language placement assessment and register for class. After orientation, our activities coordinator will lead a group tour around downtown San Diego, giving you a peek at the beautiful location you’ve selected as your new home. She will point out places that will be useful during your stay and some of the places you might want to explore in the coming months.
